About disks.co.uk

disks.co.uk is an independent UK price-comparison site for data-storage drives — hard disk drives (HDDs), solid-state drives (SSDs), NVMe and M.2 drives, and external drives. Our single goal is to help you find genuinely good-value storage by ranking every drive on the one number that actually matters when you are buying capacity: the real cost per terabyte (£/TB).

How the ranking works

For each drive we take its current Amazon.co.uk price and divide it by its usable capacity in terabytes. A 4 TB drive at £80 works out at £20/TB; a 2 TB drive at £60 is £30/TB — so even though the 2 TB drive is cheaper to buy, the 4 TB drive is better value per gigabyte you actually get. Sorting the whole market this way makes the best-value options obvious at a glance, instead of being hidden behind headline prices.

Where our data comes from

Pricing and price history are sourced from Keepa, a long-established Amazon price-tracking service. For every drive we show the current price, the 24-hour movement, all-time and 12-month highs and lows (with the dates they occurred), and rolling 30, 90, 180 and 365-day averages so you can judge whether today's price is genuinely a good deal. Each product page also embeds the full Keepa price-history graph and the product's real Amazon customer rating.

How often it updates

Prices and history are refreshed automatically several times every day, so the rankings reflect the live market rather than a stale snapshot. The “last updated” time shown on the listings tells you exactly how fresh the data is.

How we stay independent

We rank drives purely by their cost per terabyte and price history — never by commission. The site is funded by Amazon affiliate links and by advertising, which lets us keep it free to use. See our affiliate disclosure for the full details.
